TX Persimmon
On 9/1/2013, I came about this (ball and burlap) 12 feet TX Persimmon (Diospyros Texana). Chopped it and brought it home. Replaced the silty fine sand it is in and prayed it survive. When I initially saw it, the nebari is about 3 " below the soil. Visible trunk is the white-ish bark...the darker portion was buried. The trunk is about 4"-5" (depending where you take it--because it is not round) and from soil it is about 15" tall stump.
Didn't do much the first few moths (being winter) but on 5/3/2014...after 8 months.
On 6/2/2014...after another month (9 months)
I do not have a current photo but it is even better now on it's 1st year anniversary esp since it was (minimally) wired. I will update as I get a current photo.
Next few years will be concentrated on thickening the branches (I know I do it the other way around LOL) so the growth will be left to run next year.

Again, thanks for being engaged LOL
I have lots of wire, some from Stone Lantern...probably will last me my lifetime at the rate I am using (and re-using) them. Thanks.
