My first pine - Pinus Sylvestris
Hello all,
I would like to share with you pictures of my first tree (before and after first styling).
It was styled on March this year. Please be gentle...
Before:
After (picture from March):
I know that foliage is far from trunk but I'm working to get it closer at the moment.
It backbuded (is the spelling correct ) but not as much as I would like to see.
Now I'm feeding it with fertilizer and preparing for next season and counting for bigger number of buds.
Hope you like it!

You seem to be doing things the right way. The one great thing about Scots Pines is their ability to back bud on old wood. This is in my experience driven by allowing the new growth to elongate as much as possible then cutting it back hard. If you repeat this process a couple of years in a row you should not only get many new buds where you have the choices to cut back to shorten branches but the needles will become shorter.
