leaf Bleeding Ficus

Mature Large leaf ficus,gently sweats a sticky substance, which makes a patch on its stand . this can only be removed
by way of a detergent based product. I do add not from the leaves themselves.
any thoughts or suggestions please ? roger

Without seeing a leaf, I would put my money on a scale problem. I was in the tropical plant business for almost 20 years and ran into this problem almost every week or so in winter.

Chipalee,Thank you, it is a nice day, so i will take the tree out side and spray for scale.
thoughts and suggestions like yours are worth knowing, i will mention in passing the tree is
