Tree Related, but not Bonsai
I took these photos earlier this year. We found this while working in a local cemetery. A severe storm had passed through a day or two earlier and left this in its wake.
Up the tree further:
Lying at the tree we found this:
There was bark and debris as much as 50 feet away, but the most shocking piece of the tree puzzle was this:
(Caviat: 5 ft 7 inch wife provided for purposes of scale and not as a result of the storm! )
I removed the spike and found it was impaled more than a foot into the ground.

Go lightning! I was in my aunt's house many years when it struck a tree right outside the computer room while I was watching a movie. Powerful stuff.
