I see exposed wood. How does it handle the deadwood?

I still don't understand my Premna,though ... I see you have it on a fast-draining substrate, do you water it a lot or do you wait for the soil to dry out enough ? Thanks

xavier: the deadwood is very hard - almost indestructible

brett : the leaves reduce significantly with ramification of branches and clip and grow pruning. I water my trees daily, including the premna
