Antique barber chair base turntable
I found a functional antique porcelain barber chair base on craigslist for $75.00 and then modified a wooden wire spool that I scooped up from CL&P. I will use the lower level for tools and wire. Extremely sturdy and has a height adjustment of about 18".

I have a friend with one of these. It has a foot pump and a formica top. Classy! You're really going to enjoy this!

Dear ChrisA,
I hate you both for having that barber chair base, and for having enough floor space to use it.
I was just kidding.

I have one that I use all the time. Never thought about a wire spool top though- that's a great idea. Will make it a little heavy but who cares it's not meant to be portable. Off to find a spool. Thanks.

Sounds like a great turn table. I wonder how many times you will move it

I've been lucky finding bases and will be able to make a few more. I'm hoping to find slightly smaller spools for the next ones.

I've worked on sev. of these. They are great, but I'm 6'0 and at full extension, it's still a little low. The wire spool is a very good idea to make it more comfortable to use.
