Hypnotic
There's something very hypnotic about watching work on the wheel. I like the ambient music and video quality.
Is the lip on this pot done the same way in which an oval or circular bonsai pot rim would be done?

Glad you enjoyed it
You have lost me on one part of your question. I don't know what you mean by "Is the lip on this pot done the same way in which an oval or circular bonsai pot rim would be done?". The lip of the pot is created when throwing the pot, and not made separately in anyway.

Andy

Thanks, Andy. The video is instructive yet also lyrical. The pot is beautiful.

Yeah - that's what I meant. I've been trying to build slab pots over the past 6 months.
Just ventured into throwing.

If I was throwing a round to distort into an oval then I would throw the lip the same way. If I was coiling an Oval then I would add the lip as a coil then shape. Finally if I was slab building a rectangle then the lip would be added as per the coiled Oval pot

Andy,
Have you ever had issues with wobbly feet after bisque or glaze firing? If so, what steps have you taken to fix the problem?
best,
Casey

No I have not but if I did then I would use a grinder like a dremel with appropriate fixture

Always informative to watch someone accomplished at their skill, perform. Glad you posted. If I had a magic wand to wish for something not included, it would have been to have commentary on what was being done and why. thanks

I totally understand your wish but I can't pat my head and rub my tummy let alone throw a pot and talk at the same time
Its not excuse though so I will endeavour on my next demo that I do I will do a voice over and add after the work has been done. Glad you found it useful/enjoyable anyway
