Red Pine Styling
A friend of mine asked me to style his Red Pine. The first picture is the original front. I turned the tree around (2nd pic) and tilted it slightly to the right. The original bottom branch was too long with no real budding so I jinned it. I think in the future it needs to be recuced a bit but I'll let him sit with it a while and make that decision.

The plant has a nice motion of the trunk.
Maybe it's a bit too high but it is very beautiful.
Best regards , Daniel

Top needs to come down to make the tree more compact.

Re: Red Pine Styling
Aka matsue is my absolute favorite pine. But to my frustration no nurseries around here carry them.
i go along with the comments about the top, but have a question on the first movement in the trunk. I always felt better that it moved toward the viewer and not away, so I would have stayed with the initial front. comments? Thoughts?

Re: Red Pine Styling
The original front was " pigeon breasted ".
The new front is the correct one.

Re: Red Pine Styling
I changed the front primarily because I liked the look of the base from the original back. I wasn't necessarily aware of it being "pigeon breasted" but did not like that aspect of the bend. As to the height, it adds a certain uniqueness that I like. As for the bunjin style it is a very nice solution but I don't know if my friend was ready for me to reduce his tree quite that much. Maybe next styling.
Thanks for the comments.

Hi,
The trunk is beautiful. I like it before cuting.
Happy new year!
