First styling for this Larch
We, (that is Dragon Bonsai), had Simon Tremblett with us for the day in the summer and as part of his program that day he used this larch to demonstrate some silk carving, so it was time to do the foliage styling, I could have left this for the winter, but I have been pleased to do this work at this time of year recently, being careful to keep the tree well misted as the work progressed.
This is Simon working on the dead wood back in the summer

This is the tree before styling

A change of angle was decided

Now gentle repotting and the wiring can be started

Re: First styling for this Larch
My main aim is to give the tree a dramatic image, to use the flow and soul of the dead wood and continue the movement . The John Pitt pot has greatly added to the expression that that I wanted in this peice

So this is now when the Bonsai thing starts, developing new growth next year by feeding well and the impacting on that growth to give me what I want. With a larch two seasons doing the right thing and we should be some where near a final image!
Regards Chris
