Young Cotoneaster
I am still new to bonsai. I began educating an teaching myself as much as I could a little over a year ago. This is a young cotoneaster I aquired this spring. I recently wired most of it to start working on its shape. About a month ago leaves began yellowing and falling off. I found several scale and removed them. It still loses 2-3 leaves each week but you can see in the leaves photo it has really started comming back and shooting out new growth. Any ideas, comments, etc are welcome

In my experience, small cotoneasters like yours are weak and temperamental. I suggest you put it in a large grow pot with coarse soil & feed heavily for a year. Remember it is in the rose family & susceptible to all the rose ills.
