Live oak boxwood
For the first winter since we moved up here (7 years now) this Florida tree came through the winter unscathed. I've shown its history before, so I won't go into it again.
It is in full bloom, though it is almost impossible to see the flowers in the photo. For scale, the pot is 12 inches (30 cm) wide.

Very nice Jim! I like the bark on this one; very much in scale with the size of the tree.

Jim, she's lookin' good! Personally, I love the way Japanese boxwood flowers smell. Besides sweet olives which bloom off and on all winter here, it's one of the first things that says "IT'S SPRING!!!!"
Any chance I could talk you into a shallow pot?

Thanks, Russell. But I think these trees smell like cat piss. Different noses, I guess.
I doubt it. This tree hasn't liked it in shallow pots in the past.

Oh, I agree. they do smell like pee... but I don't think the flowers do, from a distance anyway.
And I understand about the pot. It's amazing how different trees can react to different circumstances with no real rhyme or reason.
