Fukien Tea Possible New Front
[b]posting a picture of my Fukien Tea and hearing comments about a weak looking trunk base, I decided to look carefully at my tree for the possibility of a new front. After a few hours of contemplation I think I may have found it and want to hear comments from you guys. I have rhino hide for skin say both good and bad welcome.
This is the tree front as it is now.

From the looks of it now I prefer the old front (some pruning and minor wiring required). Perhaps take a new photograph of the new possible front with a more passive background? The plants in the background kinda blend into it as they are the same basic color.

Cockroach,
I think you might be reacting to the foliage pads, and not the tree itself. There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the structure.
Want to try more negative space and reworking the pads into domes, get the tree to move some more ?
Other than that, at a later date a pot with a shape closer to what you might end up with.
How about a crisper image?
Later.

A clearer picture would help but if this new front helps overcome the reverse taper at the base then I'm all for it.

Re: Fukien Tea Possible New Front
I should be able to get a picture later this afternoon when I return home. It is hard in our cramped quarters to get clearer pictures as there is always something somewhere. But I will try to find a board or something to place behind it.
Thanks for the comments!
Bonsaimike- I do like the original styled front but the reverse taper does not look as if it will go away in the near future i.e I'll probably have a walking stick before it has a strong base from that angle. Definitely be pruning and wiring a bit
Khaimraj-The base is what I was looking at more with regards to the front. The new possible front has a bit more of a sturdy looking base that might look better with the weight of the foliage. I will be trying to thin out the pads a little and create more negative spaces. I am not too fond of the manicured round domes on bonsai and prefer a bit more of a natural look. The pot was used as it was deep enough to transplant it from the growing pot to a bonsai pot. It will with every repot go into a shallower pot.
Twisted Tree-The new possible front does seem to do that but branch placement might be a bit off hence me asking opinions. Will work on a clearer picture.
