It's a mistake
I bought this tree about 1 year ago. It has been training for about 4 years. But I decided to cut it for training.
That could be a mistake. What do you think. Give me advice. Thanks

Hello Vietnhat,
You decided to go for another for years to get to the stage it was,
you decided to go for a shorter tree
and you decided for the challenge to get a more interesting tree you saw in it?
For now i would leave it to grow some branches and next year start some carving work on the deadwood.

No on the contrary, I think you did the right thing for the tree. That top part was straight and uninteresting.
Let it grow and see what the tree wants to do.

Thanks all
I decided to go for a shorter tree. I wish This is the shape in future. But it develops very slowly.

Yes that would be lovely...
But what kind of tree is it? Ficus, Privet, Syzygium?

Thanks Andre Beaurain
This tree is found in central Vietnam. Some one used to as bonsai in recent years. I looked but did not see its international name. It is not Ficus, Privet or Syzygium. Its fruit and flower is very nice.
The Vietnamese call it is "Hải châu". Can be roughly translated as "Sea pearl".
This is its fruit and flower.

Looks like it belongs to Myrtle family maybe a variety of Syzgium cumini or black plum. Been using it for bonsai here in the Philippines. but the ones we have got bigger leaves.
