Not sure whether the two outer trees will oose their 'leaves' any time soon.
But all 3 of them great specimens!

This is the nicest progression I've ever seen
I have 2 boys (2,5 yo. & 9 yo.), may I get inspired by your progression?

All three are great!!
Just in case you see this Mr.Valavanis, did the younger boy grow to be the taller ?
I ask because my younger brother is the taller by 1.5 inches.
Just curious.

What a great spin on a progression post. Be awesome to have those two pics framed and hanging side by side somewhere prominent. Great job all around!

Glad you liked the two photos!
All the developmental photos and instructive information on the Trident Maple development (not my boys) will be in my forthcoming new commemorative album.

The boys have grown up!
So did mine.
Nice trident Bill. Now I know why you were able to donate that one beautiful trident to The Chicago Botanical Gardens years ago.
Nice progression Bill.

Re: VALAVANIS GREATEST CREATIONS!
Bill,
I have had the pleasure of meeting your son Chris, a very polite and helpful young man. I have also finally had the pleasure of seeing this tree during a visit to your garden. Which was an educational and inspiring trip!
Now, the only problem I have, is that I am confused, as I could have sworn you were just now turning 45?! You must've just been out of high school when you had these two?! You have the energy of a 20 year old....or so it seems.
Thanks for sharing Bill! I cannot wait to have the same fun comparison when my 2 boys are grown.
Neil

What a magnificient progression photo. This one as a deep sense of the relation between time and bonsai.
Congratulations.
Congratulations.

Great shots of the Trident and your kids. I actually thought about the idea of kids and a bonsai in a picture before this post, but unfortunately none of my kids are interested in bonsai. And ofcourse, I am not sure if my trees will survive long enough.

Re: VALAVANIS GREATEST CREATIONS!
Great progression, Bill! I have two boys as well; a 4 yr old and 1 yr old. I have to agree with you that, as much as I love bonsai, there isn't a tree and never will be that can compare. Time will tell, though, if they'll develop daddy's affinity for little trees.
Thanks for sharing.
