2012 UPSTATE NEW YORK SUISEKI STUDY GROUP EXHIBIT

On Saturday and Sunday, September 1-2, 2012 the Upstate New York Suiseki Study Group had our second exhibit at the International Bonsai Arboretum Open House. The exhibit was held in the greenhouse which was transformed into a summer suiseki exhibit featuring 39 stones from our members. Sixteen members from New York State and Pennsylvania displayed suiseki from their private collections. Suiseki displayed in our first exhibit last year were not allowed to be shown this year in order to create interest to viewers and also to encourage members to find new stones.

We had visitors from around the area and Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Ohio come to see the suiseki, the bonsai on display and four bonsai demonstrations.

Our members enjoyed sharing the beauty of their suiseki and many will also display at the upcoming International Stone Appreciation Symposium in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Please contact me for additional information or registration forms.
