EMERALD ASH BORER EAB
Hi Guys I recently discovered that my ash trees are infested with ash borer larvae.
I`ve never seen something like this before. I`ve read it`s very common in North America but i`ve never heard of this bettle here in Melbourne (AUS) before.
There is anyone can give some advice on how to get rid of this evil insect please...?
Thanks

We have heard a lot about it here. There is really nothing you can do once a tree is infested, since injecting a systemic insecticide is prohibitively expensive. Cut the tree down & burn it. The most important preventive is do not transport the wood of ash trees. Borers are not reported in Onondaga County yet, but we expect them in the next few years. I have one ash tree in my yard. Researchers are frantically scouring Europe for a natural enemy.
