What is This Tree?
I doubt that it is an elm. It has opposite leaves.
Are the twigs square? Do the leaves smell when crushed? It will probably be impossible to identify until it blooms.

Are you sure the leaves are opposite? I can't see it clearly enough to say that. Look in the upper right corner of the first picture.

You've got a point, Russell! The leaves look opposite in the center of the picture, not so much in the upper right. We need a clearer picture, from the side, rather than top down.
