I don't know..who care anyway, and why should we follow the Japanese ? I can claim this as SUPER MINI BONSAI or you can call it MICRO BONSAI and wonder if ever done by the Japanese.

But I just want to know if there is a Mame category in contests in far east, etc.?

Yes Tom, you need to see it to believe the leaves reduction, I have never seen other species like this.

The leaves are gradually reducing along with the forming of the ramification structure.
