Pat

In response to Pat Bonsaistud's request in another thread but as quoted above, here indeed I am relaxing under a couple of my favourite trees.

Relaxing on a (rare) hot day under a buxus which I have had for about 3 years now but which always be a Dan Barton tree.

And chilling out under a lovely Shohin maple after a race

No, it came on the slab.

Normally when I buy or otherwise acquire a tree I tend to make changes - either to give it my own "personality" in the design or because Nature needs something changed. But this one I plan to keep as much as possible how it was when I got it from Dan. This tree always struck me as special and if all I am is its custodian, then I am proud to be so.

The slab's good isn't it.

Actually I'm thinking the box would look much better in a conventional pot, perhaps in a tan or brown for contrast with the trunk. And get rid of that chinese-style figurine ;-).

G'day Friends...

I'm pleased to see the responses to my suggestion...great trees, great slab...and how about those "...chinese-style figurine(s)..."? Are they called "mud ladies"? I wouldn't change a thing...

Cool thread Fiona...

Pat ...mounted on my trusty steed, riding off, wildly, in all directions...

Hey Fiona,
Like some others I do like the tree/slab combo......however the tree might look even better in the right pot? Maybe others could throw you a few "verts" for comparison purposes.
The other thought I had was that.............. you've had it for 3 years....so isn't it time for a "repot"?

Ooooh Peter - are you getting nervous there? And there's you a champion of Vampire Wars too I believe! Not offended - just busy last night and didn't get a chance to respond.

Anyway, for the record: I am not a Hobbit, I am in fact a Ghillie Dhu

I shouldn't worry mate. no - one appears to have picked up on my 'fertilize her' gag, so offence radar appears to be switched off.

So if I understand correctly, Fiona is a dude.
Because wikipedia says a Ghillie Dhu is a dark haired lad Wink , the one time I met you at ginkgo Fiona you did not look like a lad to me.
You dont remember meeting me Fiona?
Tony and myself and you took a tour at Danny's because you wanted to by a tree and I purposed a Satsuki, cheap and good but you did not want it.

Kind regards

Yep. Bang to rights!

But no, I am not a dude. Ghillie Dhus can be either gender despite what Wikipedia says.

Of course I remember you, Peter, as one amidst a bevy of beautiful bucks. Oh no wait - that was my dream about the Chippendales.

Tony, do you still have the IBC "team photo" from that last Ginkgo so I can do a quick comparison?
