Ground layered Hornbeam updates
Some of you may remember this one was on the old IBC. This was it in 2000 two years after collection.
Ground layering was done for a year
and the old roots removed in spring
in 2004
It has developed very good flare at the soil line and has perfect spread of roots, though they are too thin to be convincing enough for the size of the trunk. The chop scar is so large that I am featuring it as a uro. Long term project this one. Will update when I get new photo's.

How long did it take for the new root system to develop before the chop?
