Hi Will
Thank you for posting, blackthorn are a real joy.

One of mine came into flower in the sun over the weekend. The other will be in flower at the Bournemouth show. Rolling Eyes

Beautiful Will, every time you post a tree I am reminded of what I am trying to achieve with mine...and that I am soooo far away from that reality. Really beautiful pot too. Thanks for sharing.

How old do blackthorns need to be to start flowering? I bought a pot of ten little whips intended for hedging back in January, which I separated into individual pots and into the ground. The buds that started swelling in February were white & I hoped they'd be flowers but they are only leaves.

Same question.A month ago I've collected 3 blackthornes, two big ones and one small,I've planted them in the garden as I don't have pots that big.

Beautiful specimen Will. I love the contrast of the flowers and the black trunk. Also the styling and famifacation are impeccable.
