I have an and old Lacebark Elm which I won at an auction two years ago and it has produced (my guess) 2-3 hundred seeds. It did this last year although not as many; maybe a hundred at most. This year it is loaded.
The tree is a large tree - approx 28 inches tall and it might be over 40 years old. Should I remove most of the seeds before they mature? I fed this tree well this year and was thinking about letting the seeds mature so I could collect them and grow them. I don't want to overstress the tree.

This is a pciture of the tree from last Fall:

Any help or advice is appreciated. Thanks!
Best, Todd

i think if the seeds are now formed the tree has already put its strength into forming them so it makes no difference. to keep the strength in a tree it is best to remove the flowers so they dont polinate and form seeds. with a prolific tree like this you could remove them 2 years out of 3 if you enjoy the seeds as a seasonal change.
