beautiful stone. I've only been scrambling up the river banks for just two years. I think I'd pass out if i ever found anything like that on one of my hunts. Nice daiza, would love to see it in an olde doban as well.

Hi Dick... A Furuya-ishi with clay adhering to its bottom should not be placed in a tray, which is intended for only water-aged suiseki. The stone has a daiza designed in what Jesus Quintas describes as as "Chinese-platform" style in his book Q-seki. Since distribution of these Japanese stones was originally controlled by a local daimyo & the Imperial family as stones in Chinese style, maintaining this style of daiza mounting is both traditional and elevated.
