Hello everyone, Smile

I like the flowers.
Here’s an astonishing satsuki.
When it opens, the flower looks like a rosebud.
It is the variety Satsuki Komane. Wink

I like both the trees and the flowers! How long do the flowers last in full bloom?

Hello Rex.

Thank you. Wink

If the weather is good for satsuki.
If they are well watered.
If … , they may remain more or less two to three weeks.
But I do not let more than ten or twelve days on the tree.
I do not want that it runs out

I agree! Good, large komane are few and far between. I think you have a really nice one and consider you very fortunate - very rare indeed!

Nice tree,
I have one Asahi no Hikari variety with similar shape.
What month of the year does your tree bloom usually?
Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Toche,

During a trip to Europe 4 years ago I had the opportunity to visit Marc Bauer and Dany Use nureseries, I was amazed with the huge quantity (and huge prices too) of Satsukis Marc had (and I beleive he still has) unfortunately it was in late July and all the flowers were gone. Marc and Dany are so nice although they were pretty busy at that time but they still spent some of their precious time to show me around their garden.

I know very well Marc Bauwens and Dany Use, they are friends.
Sometimes, I will help Marc to cut azaleas.
It is the paradise for me.

Yes Xuan, it is right, it is Hiroharu Kobayashi and Abe.
It is thanks to Hiroharu Kobayashi that I could have the Komane azalea.

Hello Toche this pictures are amazing. I´m very curiously how one three is able to produce so much flowers. There is a trick? Feeding, solar exposition, soil, care.

Thanks

Hello Neyleite

No, there is no secret, the plant make naturally a lot of flowers
A lot of care and attention, a culture with the good conditions and and observe trees every day with a lot attention, it's like to all the bonsai.
You should not leave too many flowers, it is necessary to make a selection and not to hesitate has to cut it
An acid water, soil kanuma and does not need to leave flowers for such a long time on the tree

Hi Neyleite
They are azaleas Satsuki, they work very well in bonsai
Brazil's climate is hot and humid is not it?
It should be fine with Satsuki.
