Re: Capel Manor.
Hi,
My first visit to the invitational.
A few pictures i took, some repeated from Will.
My personal fav.
... and for scale, a picture of a passerby. Will "the not so bad" Baddeley
I had a very good day. Lots of bonsai buddies to chat with, lots of good traders and many great displays to enjoy.
A big thanks to Big Steve and all involved for your hard work and vision.
Invite me again Steve.

Two threads on this but different trees in both. Great stuff. For a while there the tropics were taking over !!
Love the winning pine and the Pyracantha.
The tokonoma with the shohin cascade juniper is the best display for me.
Thanks for taking the time to post all these. Keep them coming...

Wonderful trees.
Can you tell us more about Capel Manor - is it a club or group of clubs? Regardless, very consistently high quality trees and presentation.

Capel Manor is a horticultural college with gardens based in Enfield North London they have a website http://www.capel.ac.uk/
they have all sorts of shows here each year
the bonsai group is based there, we are a small group of enthusiasts who love bonsai
we host a beginners show each march we hold monthly meetings also and assist with the bonsai traders show every june
and then this show every october.
all of the rooms etc are free to the club and we invite our bonsai friends from everywhere to come and enjoy their day.
our aim is to enjoy bonsai plain and simple - and we are lucky that we have the run of the college for every show.
all of the staff are very supportive and helpful and we make our shows plain and simple with very few rules.

Same goes for me. Really great exhibit. I think the Larch forest and the semi cascade maple are some of my favorites
