INDONESIA NATIONAL BONSAI SHOW 2010

ThankS! Truly inspirational!

Indonesia is one of the countries at the forefront of modern bonsai and this show illustrates why!! Pemphis acidula is such an amazing tree for bonsai!!! Do you see the Indonesians showing japanese species? Of course not...they have risen to this level bc they embrace the native trees around them and use their incredible array of collected stock!! Take note America...our country is full of natural gems as well..

Okay, I do realize that Indonesia is a tropical climate and that many japanese traditional species would not grow well there (lol at my own oversight!) but you get the point. To further the art of Bonsai in your country...I feel it is very important to use native species! Most likely, the collected trees will be the most impressive stock available anyway. Hats off to Indonesia....much like Europe has done...they have furthered the art with their own trees.
