bonsai on instagram

Post  kevin stoeveken on Wed Oct 28, 2015 12:48 pm

i aint shy about my feelings toward fakebook, but i have thrown my hat into the social media ring via instagram and i gotta admit, that i like it for its simplicity... just a picture and some comments... and thats it... simple.

so i'm just wondering if anyone on the forum posts on instagram, and if so, do you mind sharing your handle ?

i'll go first: @beercitysnake

I mostly use FB to post my photos as an album and a handy way of keeping in touch with family that live far away. I've been toying with the idea of a blog, but someone mentioned that instagram might be easier and more useful. I'll look into it and let you know what I think.

yeah... instagram is just super easy and fun.
i shun social media, but i do like instagram because it is simply photo based, is non-intrusive, and i follow who i want and thats it.

Got an invite to an Art forum in Facebook, two weeks ago. Format is too difficult to work with, and the questions are technique based = hell
Deactivated yesterday,

To do so I learn't -

[1] You can now only deactivate for up to a month. So I had to use another feature.

[2] Tons of useless e-mails going to my back up service, as I still don't have a normal provider as of yet.

[3] Lots of new questions from the Machine - where exactly do I live, San Fernando / Trinidad is no longer good enough.

Facebook is getting more nosey and non-private.

I have a blog for my Colour pencil experiments, but as to the Bonsai - IBC and Ausbonsai is good enough.
Plus, the Internet as far as I am concerned is just a lonely place, no friends, just tons of questions.
Thank God for small islands, where I have had friends since diapers.

Though mind you, Kevin, is getting interesting enough to add him to my Vonage list ------ yeah ------- another person to talk to for 3 hrs + - Laughing
Happy instagramming

before adding me to vonage, ask any of my dear, since diapers, friends how much i simply adore yakking on the phone for more than...
oh say... maybe a minute or two at the most...

and while i am quite sure that a conversation with someone like you khai would be incredibly interesting,
i simply, and almost inexplicably, do not like talking on the phone.

part of why i like to travel... to meet and talk with interesting people like you, in person. Cool

btw - all the reasons you posted above are why instagram is the way to go for me...
non intrusive..., pictures, captions and comments only...

and funny enough i have "met" folks over the interwebs, that i went on to meet in person and became real life friends with...
that, to me, is the power of the web... using it to enhance real life... not a substitute for real life, nor an escape from it.

fakebook could have been something good, but like you said, they are too nosey (which is putting it mildly)
not to mention the pervading orwellian stench silent
