Zelcova Nire

I all,
Two days ago, i acquired this zelcova from a spanish online store and in less than 24h the tree was right in front of my door.
After looking at it, i decided to put it in a large pot with a good draining soil.
Let's see hot it goes.
Dimensions are 16 cm x 16,5 cm.

Soon I'll post some pics after repotted.

It looks healthy. In your f/u pictures, please show the base of the trunk a little more.

Seems to have a lot of potential. How is the nebari, and I am hoping you will choose a better soil mix when you repot (something with more drainage).

Also, think about structural branch pruning at this point.

Pumice / Mix of akadama, lava gravel and coconut fibre.

Don't you have a lot of mould in your coconut fibre?
In this climate (Cf, Netherlands), my coconut fibre tends to attract a lot of mould..

Today some work was done.

Without leaves:





Some branches were removed.

Repotted two weeks ago.
I used a mix of 60% akadama, 30% kyriu and 10% pumice.
