A good friend in bonsai gifted this tree to me, because he didn't want to work on this tree any more.
The pot was broken and after years, wire grew in the bark and even under the bark so much that I realy had a major problem even to find all the remaning wire, not to speak about removing.
The tre was a real beetle as you can see on the first picture. The first branch was cascading almost to the ground. After I have taken this tree at home, I cuted all the branches I didn't need for my design, removed the wire (man, that was something!!!), and repoted the tree in a plastic training pot.
On the thirth picture should be my new front. The old front was more to the left.

After 4 months of recovery, I decided to go on with my design. I had to bring some branches to the left, only for the thickest one, I needed some raphia for bending. The result is a bunjingi. Off course, with the years, some branches will be removed to bring more negative spaces and depth.

Something was wrong. I think the tree isn't balanced well. The ten-jin is on the right side, so I was thinking to remove or lift up the first right branch. This way the tree would look much more dramatic.
This is what I did:

I like the way it looks in the second to last photo. Nice recovery. Maybe your friend will want you to regift it back.

Great work. I think the change from a static to a more dynamic design will be very instructive for IBC members.
