Re: Pemphis Design.
I'd go with Number 2. Number one gives the impression of a tree stump struggling to survive. Number 2 appears a vibrant towering tree that has battled the elements.

It's a no brainer.....Number 2.
It is much more evocative and emphasizes the tree's power, age and grace.

Re: Pemphis Design.
hello Khun Pongsatorn
can you tell me the Thai name for Pemphis and where do you find raw material like that?
according to wikipedia, "Most Pemphis live either at the verges of mangrove forests, well away from the forest-ocean interface; or they colonize beaches behind the intertidal zone, taking hold on rocks, gravel or sand, laterite or limestone, and frequently on promontories or crags"
looks like i will have to find some forgotten coastline here in phuket or phang na bay and start looking. thanks for the inspiration.

Good morning Steve,
Yes, the name in Thai is like John mention. Pemphis are posible to find at any islands of Andaman sea, but Thailand have alot of Naional Park, almost islands are. dig it up with your self is very dangerous to fight with law. the sefty way is to buy them from dealler as John said.
I know some dealler from Bangsand to Rayoung and also as John said... them prices are can be vary but some are not (3000-5000 THB are have avialable) I will ask my friend about dealler in Phuket for you too!.
Regards,
Pongsatorn.K
P.S. please let me know if you are would like seeds, I have a ton of Pemphis seed.
