just acquired a really nice collected pitch pine. i know to treat them like jbp but any other care tips?

Well, you might consider where they grow and decide that it might be easy to overwater them.

Don't you study with Nick? Seems like you have access to one of the best PP resources out there.

Around here PP are treated just like any other pine from a horticultural perspective. Coarse inorganic with lots of water and conscientious fertilizing during development. Less during refinement.

Would love to see a pic.

Watch out for sawfly larvae...they love pitch pine, among others.

ya ill be at nick this weekend and do plan on showing it to him and getting all the tips i can. i grab a picture as soon as i can

That's a bad ass pitch pine. Jealous of all your material, and the fact you get to work with nick! Met him last fall, would love to work with him some day.
