what tree is this+ some advice please.

hi i was in the local garden and saw a bonsai in a far corner full of lets say "off its best" stock for £8 and brought it iv seen bonsai before but never owned one of even thought about it,just got it on the odd chance and i'd like some advice to care for it and if poss some can tell me what type of tree it is, also I have some pictures for you to look at is it ok shape or a waste of time???

It's a chinese elm. Common and pretty easy tree to keep.

A repot to a more free draining soil mix is probably a good idea.
