Great Trees, Thanks for posting Robert and Jun. I don't think your photos suck, Jun .
In the first photo there is a viewing stone that looks like a cluster of dinosaur eggs.... is it??
Love and light

Yes Andre,
I think they are fossil eggs. the owner got his huge collection of different stuffs from dino fossils, Egyptian artifacts, Asian artifacts etc. he got his own museum adjacent to his house. and from time to time he is donating his collection to the national museum. He is also a film producer....and of course a bonsai guy.

Oh yes preng Jed, you missed it big time! The entries are getting better and better...
As for the judging. We managed to finished the whole thing in around 4 hours using the new method brought by Robert. Same system we used in Malaysia and being adopted in most countries now. very fair and square!

Hi Jun,
What a great show!!
I'm glad to see that all your hard work paid off.
I agree with Robert, the Filipino bonsai community is producing some outstanding trees.
The quality of trees I saw during my short visit left me speechless.
I can't wait to see what you develop from some of those native trees you collected.
Salamat po.
Regards,
Paul

Thanks for sharing.
One question, the Murraya you show has no leaves, which variety is it as the ones here have leaves all year round...?
I think our one is called Murraya exotica..???

The leafless "Murraya" got also an all year round foliage. It was shown without leaves to give emphasis on branch and ramification. and I believe it is not a real Murraya, but locals for very long time classified it under the Murraya family, Murraya exotica, which I doubt is true.
Do you have pictures of Murraya exotica? Leaves and flowers specially? I am quite curious, maybe the one you got there is M. paniculata.

jun

Thanks John! It is a red Ixora, There are lot of those species in Thailand. they are very forgiving trees. and easy to grow in our climate.
Here is another one from the same show....
Here are the top three flowering trees, and Robert explaining why the one in the middle wins over the big ixora in the flowering bonsai category...

jun
