I aquired this larch from a Danish bonsaifriend. Yesterday it got its first styling, the tree is 30 cm high and has a trunkdiameter of 4 cm.
What do you think? Wahst kind of pot would you suggest for springs repot?
thanks in advance, Wessel

Hi
Is the pot round? Can not pinpoint if it's the angle of the camera or the pot itself being or looking round..
I think a rectangular pot will look super. Then again, an oval one will also look good.
If it's round, it's not good because round pots are for literati style bonsai.
Now, one thing that you must check (just helping, not criticizing..) is your wiring, try to get the wire as close as possible to the branches and trunk, no hoops and over crossing wires are allowed.
Last thing.. Be careful of too much branches growing out of one spot, it causes the trunk to make a huge knob after a few months, especially if they are exactly opposite each other.
Cheers

Re: new Larix from Danmark
Hi,
- The pot now is just a recover pot, since I bought it with no pot in january.
- Some wiring on the upper branches is done on purpose, since larches grow very hard in the top. Allowed branches can grow out to almost 1 meter in 1 growing season.
- probable the first 3 branches in the top wil be cut later, depending on the growth on the back of them, specially the little branch just in back of the topbranch, which will make the new top.
thanks for commenting,
W.
