BEST OF BRITISH BONSAI

This weekend has seen the first Best of British Bonsai event at Birmingham U.K. And what an event it proved to be!! Some exceptional trees and displays from around the U.K. I'm sure that over the next couple of days there will be further postings, along with photo's attached.
To those that made the event such a success, the exhibitors, the traders, and not least, the hosts, warmest congratulations for a superb event.

As the fool who was instrumental in getting the Best of British Bonsai exhibition up and running. I would like to thank all the voluntary helpers who selflessly gave up three days of their time and worked hard to make this event run smoothly. To all the traders who made the effort to attend the show and who contributed so much to its success. A big thank you also.
For all of you who contributed trees for the exhibition, give yourselves a big pat on the back. This was the best display of bonsai seen in the UK to date. The bar has now been reset, we have a new benchmark to aim at for future shows. Lets hope we can keep this momentum going.
Because of the politics and huge egos which pervade British bonsai, there was a lot of negativity leading up to the event. Lets hope we have all made the first steps in pulling British Bonsai together.

Great words indeed Steve... in terms of Quality of Exhibition, passion of the Demonstrators, the huge numbers that attended, variety of Traders and all round feel good factor, Indeed this was by far the best Bonsai Show to be held in the UK to date.

Excellent weekend. Excellent trees and great friendship. The bar has been raised for UK Bonsai Shows. Thanks to everybody for making my time at the show a memorable and enjoyable one

A great time was had by all,here is Tony Tickle,for once we allowed the shoes in but this scarf must go!

I'm late on parade as usual but I must join the rest of the guys in congratulating the organisers, participants and traders for for was a fantasic show. I was only there for one day so unfortunatly I could not attend any of the demos, sorry Tony, but I had just about enough time to take in the wonderful trees (and blow my budget ) and excellent pots 'n stuff. Great to catch-up with so many people although I don't know where I got the tag "Vodka Monster" from

I've been a lucky boy this year to take in the BSA Show & BoBB in short measure and it has really fired me up (just ask Stone Monkey ) and taught me alot. Still lots to learn but I hope I'm now going in the right direction.

Great job everyone and I can't wait til the next time

What a great weekend, with great trees and great friends, its raised the bar lets keep it there and even raise it higher. Hi Tony everyone is looking forward to the 10th of May and the opening of the new facilities for Dragon Bonsai, all are welcome by the way it will be a great day

Looks like you guys had alot of fun. I'm glad people are getting together through these lil tree. Wish I was there! Had some really nice trees in those pictures made me smile.
