Pine cones Empty Pine cones

This may be a naive question. But I'll ask anyway. Do bonsai trees ever get cones? If so, are there any pictures you could show.

They do but most people snip them off as they represent a significant investment of energy for the tree, which can in some cases lead to areas of dieback.

And nasty critters can hang out in pine cones, as I found out to my cost in Nara Park. A bite inflicted on my ankle by a Japanese Centipede (which are potentially lethal).
