Asia extreme!

Hi everybody,

After quite a while I decided to "tidy up" my photo stock.
I just was wondering if you maybe interested in some impressions of my journey through Asia which took half a year. I went to Japan, Mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau. I think I realy saw a lot of different and very special sights. Places where all tourists get and mainly those where nearly noone gets to. The big wall, 1000000 museums, world heritage sites, nature reserves, the terracotta army, the yangtze river, its tributaries, buildings, castles, gardens, temples .... And of course a saw many many many Bonsai of different quality and style! It makes absolutely no sense to list it at all! I just tried and it took me quite a lot sheets of paper.. All together I took about 15000 pictures. So that's why I will not show you all of them... But if you are interested I will continue to post some of them.

Very nice trip Max.

Try heading further south next time. South East Asia got something much different to offer. More culturally diverse and got different spice compared to our northern Neighbors.

I loved the Scolopendra (nasty big centipede), but wasn't too keen on the culinary view of frogs. Oh.. and that MacDonalds fitted in about as well as a dog turd on a bowling green. Great contrasts though all round. Do you have any more to share?

the McDonald's was so small and tiny that I had to take a photo.
I did never before see such a small one. This was in Shanghai...

Question, On one of you shots it looked like your standing in what looked like a tea farm. Is it Pu-erh tea by any chance?

Hi Tim,
yes it is a tea farm! But please excuse I don't know what kind of tea they mainly produced. I got some longjing tea which was very tasty.

I thought so Max. Longjing is a nice tea but I'm into Pu-erh. If you have a chance give it a try. Also, if you can find some Yixing pots they are the best to brew your tea in. Here are some sites that may help you along.

Hey Tim,

I already have a big dried block with Pu-erh tea which I got in China. And I also like it very much!
I tried many different teas. My favourite one was called Lao Ying. You have to drink it as an ice tea. Its so tasty... But its also sooo difficult to get it anywhere.. Did you ever try it?

In Germany there is an idiom that says "something is as interesting as a bag with rice falling in China" so I tried how it is.. (was very exiting..)

These tortoises are sold to be eaten and killed in a very brutal way!

You can see:
German Unity Day (me with Michael Glos who was Minister for Economics and Technology at this time and Friedrich Merz who also is a famous politician in Germany, they were visiting Hong Kong), my flight to Japan (I was very lucky cause they upgraded me! )
Akihabara capsule inn Hotel in Japan, my favourite restaurant in Akihabara, my favourite food in Japan! (japanese Schnitzel with special carrots, fried egg, and japanese sauce...jammi!), Omiya, Tokio Tower mascot, Kairakuen, Imperial front garden, Shinkansen, MOUNT FUJI (this was by far the most impressing adventure of all!) Bonsai pot from Omiya on top of Fuji, the clouds are not photographed from an airplane. They were photographed on Mount Fuji!, calabash contest, gigantochloa, Kinkakuji, Himeji-jo...

Love that last pic mate, can i request more bonsai/penjing pics plus maybe a few more from that crazy pet shop please
