Hi All, well first I would like to mention that sadly this species is found mostly in seashore areas that have been and are currently under development as touristic sites. Cancun was one of such places but know must of them are gone (not collected just run over by bulldozers) I have seen mountains of piled up great trees that are just burned. So we are trying to save the last remaining specially the ancient trees that have survived for centuries. The last good area I know will probably survive for 2 more years before it is all gone.
Anyway here are a few pictures, I will post more soon. Needless to say the trees still need a lot of development and some have been done by several great artist during their visit to my place. like Robert Stevens, Min Hsuan Lo, Robert Kempinski, Erik Wigert etc so not all are done by me.A few pictures of Terminalia molineti (Bucida spinosa) Felabr10

It is truly wonderful to hear of tree rescues, no matter whether they become MASTERpieces or just a loved display in someone's garden. Good luck with the rest of the project - hopefully lots of interested folks will benefit - and lots more trees.

Thank you for posting the pictures Enrique.

They are truly nice specimen for bonsai, the twisted trunks and rough bark and fine leaves are almost similar to Phempis acidula.

We have some variety here in the Philippines but not as good as the ones you got there. and never been used for serious bonsai purposes.

regards,
jun Smile

Thanks Jun, I will try to find more pictures tomorrow. I love the Phempis as well, to bad we dont have that species, but from some pictures I seen they are great. Cheers Enrique

My favourite is the second one, as images go.
Thanks a million Enrique.

Hi Enrique,

Thanks for posting, I am sure there are more nice bucida bonsai around in Mexico, I saw them.

Re. Pemphis, unfortunately this species is too sensitive for long transportation; if bringing in plants is allowed in Mexico, I will love to bring some nice Premna for you, you will love them...

Regards from China...

[right]

here is another one I'm currently working I remove the background so the tree could be appreciated, soon I will take a good picture, once the tree is more ready. Also probably a more stable pot with bigger feet a a bit larger will do
