one thing from the desk
Just wanted to thank the people who take time to post information and pictures of their bonsai for us to read and see. This is one forum that sticks to its guns on the subject of bonsai without turning into a bridge club party. Thanks again posters!

Absolutely! With all the religion and pilitics being discussed on other forums, this is always refreshing!

I like the artistic angle up the trunk, in your photo. Full tree, or bonsai?

Good to hear richard. I remember when I would work in the broiling sun all day in some remote spot in the middle of nowhere to collect a beautiful one of a kind potential tree. Bring it home and invite my mentor to see the wonder I found. The words still ring in my ear to this day..... "Gar....that is a 'turkey' (junk) tree, keep looking.....so and so found a real natural (bonsai tree) yesterday...you should see it!"
I wanted to strangle him right there.... impale him with my snips. But in the long run he was right. So don't get discouraged if some of the ole vets come down on you a little hard. It is a good thing in the long haul of things I guess.

Hey Gary, I took a similar picture some years ago. This is the crown of a Bald Cypress bonsai from below.

This view is my favorite perspective for enjoying trees and bonsai alike Ed. I find myself after a frontal exam always trying to take a peek of a tree from the ground up perspective. The canopy and brach structure comes alive to me. Very nice.
Gordon, the first tree pic is a potted tree or bonsai I have had for some time.

Gary,
I think you hit the nail right in the head!!! I will like to see more activity going on in this forum, like the old days. I believe it's only a matter of time.
Your friend,
Jose Luis
