Hi All

Good to see this forum is buzzing with fabulous pots and amazing new ideas and concepts as well as classic styles and influences.
I have been very busy over the past few weeks with getting ready for my next show this weekend. Here is a small sample of some of the pots that came from my kiln when I opened it on Sunday afternoon

There is always one happy accident. This one was a little too close the burners and the glaze ran more than usual, but I love it thumbs up

Andy,
Nice development of style going on there mate!

That first set of pots is quite interesting with the carved out textural elements. You may be on to something! Wink

Hi Rob

I saw some Japanese pots in a Tokoname catalouge and this is what inspired me to try out this carved area / eroded look. It looks a little contrived at the moment but I have some ideas to make it look a little more natural. I seem to be drawn even more to traditional japanese style bonsai ceramics at the moment. I got a couple of books on Japanese Bonsai pots and they are in a league of their own, IMHO Embarassed

Hi Robert

Thanks for the comments mate. I love making these rectangles and thought a rope style foot would go well with it. I have had a little rectangle phase the past few weeks. Probably as a result of a comment on another Bonsai Forum, not mentioning any names but it is no longer on line for some reason or other, suggesting that I was a one trick pony as I "only posted pictures of round pots as they were easy to make" Evil or Very Mad But I am not bitter Wink

All the best to you both

Hi Lee

Thanks mate. It was making your "Worm Eaten" Juniper pot that begged the question "Should I make more like this" perhaps it was that fact your pot I made was honoured as a Japanese and a Klika pot Embarassed definatley a compliment on both parts. I shall also be making some more "Rice Krispie" pots, snap, crackle and pot, geddit No I made some small shohin ones to make sure the technique was working well and I will employ this on some larger pots in the near future when I get a spare 5 mins

Hi Tony

Hopefully I will have some more with me at Burrs this year, many thanks for the compliments it means alot. Do you need an assistant in Denmark??? Shocked

Hi Chris

It was good to meet you at BoBB too. Thanks for the compliments. Have you ever thought of going to Burrs Bonsai Weekend, run by Mr Tickle. Definately worth a look and a superb weekend

Hi Peter

I have updated my website with the pot sizes so you can find all the information on there my friend

Hi Klaudia

Many thanks for the kind comments. I really enjoy making these pots but as they are hand built with no mould or former they do take a little longer to make than the other pots as I am sure your aware. I am toying with the idea of some very very surreal "Dali-esque" if I can use that word, style of feet. It will be love it or hate it and a little creepy too affraid

Again thanks to everyone for their comments, if I have missed anyone I apologise, and also a BIG thankyou to Mr IBC for getting this forum up again as it is such a good vehicle to show your wares, ooh err missus Embarassed

Regards to all

Chris, great to 'see' you on this forum, I know how active you have been on BT. I have a couple of places left at Burrs check out www.bonsaischool.co.uk and see what all the fuss is about.

My favorite is the last pot. The hint of blue makes the pot.
