Hands up if this sounds familiar.

Four married guys go collecting yamadori. After an hour or so, conversation turns to their wives.
"You have no idea what I had to do to get my wife to let me come out today," says the first guy, "I had to promise to paint every room in the house next weekend."
"That's nothing," says the second guy. "I had to promise to build my wife a new deck for the pool."
The third guy says "Ha! You've both got it easy! I had to promise my wife that I'd get her a new kitchen."
They continue digging and scraping in silence for a few minutes then realise that the last guy hasn't said a word. "You haven't told us what you had to do to get your wife to let you come collecting this weekend. Why's that?"
"Oh, that," he says, "I just set my alarm clock for 5:30 this morning and when it went off I woke her up and said "Sex or collecting?" She just said "Wear a warm sweater,""

That's pretty good. I guess her only alternative would be to lie there and "think of England".
