help with my maple please

hi all can anyone give me any advice on how to maintain a trident maple i belive they call it a root over rock.i was given this by a friend who is no longer around. so all help will be greatfull. need to know how to maintain its shape over the comeing month

You should post some pictures of differnt angles so we can get an idea what we are working with. Without a pic its pretty hard to give advise.

Hello Billy and welcome. It's always advisable to post an image to get specific advice. Maintenance is a huge subject and dependant on how involved you want to get with your tree. Are you a complete beginer and have you thought about joining a club? Where abouts in the UK are you?

Greetings and salutations Billy. You ceratinly came to the right place to ask for help, mate. Once you learn to ignore all the abuse, insults and general slagging-off, it's actually quite a friendly place!

Essex eh? Ah well, we all have our crosses to bear, I suppose. At least you're in a good location for bonsai assistance. There are some good clubs and massively talented individuals around those parts.

When you post your pics, it may be an idea to give some dimensions of the tree as well, cos someone is bound to ask. Or you could put something in the pic (fag packet, mobile phone) so we can get an idea of height etc.
