Re: Some Shohin
Definitely leave the branch on the tree. It gives depth. I find the 'biting' deadwood distracting, and not adding to the composition.
I think you have captured the spirit of shohin composition beautifully in all your trees, and I look forward to future development. I am particularly jealous of you latest acquisition.

I like the space between the branches makes the composition very elegant .
The depth is the third branch .
All of this very subjective , even so very beautiful .

Hallo Daniel
You mean the picture is beautiful, but looks the original tree with the branch better.......... As you can see the space

I wish someday that my Shohins could be as nice and clean as yours. I hope you don't mind me sharing my little Shohin Mugo. Originally 2 gallon nursery tree in training about 10 years.

I guess it is a little self recrimination but in comparing my trees to yours mine are messy, unkempt and in need of TLC of some sort. Kind of like a marinera sauce that needs a little something to make it taste right. I appreciate your comments but your little guys are really nice.

Very nice shohin, Jupp. I especially like the little pines.
Vance, don't sell yourself short. That shohin mugo is very nice. How tall is it?

Nine inches from the bottom of the pot to the top of the tree. I've been very fortunate with this Mugo to get some decent proportions on it so that the tree seems bit more in scale than most Shohin Pine bonsai. I plan on photographing the tree along side one of the original containers it came out of to show the drastic reduction that it has gone through.

Beautiful little trees. Please don't hurt them (looks like you're about squash them in the last pic)
