Hi everybody,
for those here on IBC who have waiting all this time for the publication of my wound treatment article named "The van Meer technique" Wink..........it is posted today on the online "ofBonsai Magazine":
This is the wound treatment technique that I gave as a evening lecture at last years Burrs and the reactions were so positive that night that I decided to put it all in to writing for a online article so that it could reach even more people! This wound treatment technique is simply: a technique that helps the healing over and closing of large cut wounds on trees! I tested and developed this technique over a period of more than 15 years on my own trees and on those of my students.
So if you are interested have a look and I hope that my technique will be useful for you as well!

Cheers,
Hans van Meer.

EDIT: After a report of a potential threat from the now-defunct link, I have removed it.

thanks, Hans.
appreciate the link to this helpful article.
if I had any doubts about your technique, all I'd need to do would be to look at your trees to convince me otherwise.

Mr. Meer,

I will surely benefit from your ideas as I have many hawthorns to work on (and I know they heal the wounds too slow)!
Just a question: what are the other species that you successfully applied this technique on, & did you find any species where this technique does not work or works slow??

Thanks for such beneficial info!

B. Regards,

Dear Hans,

I need some clarification -for reasons of tact- in order the translation to be correct.
At the point where you refer to Farrand Bloch and his partner, Rene Rooswinkel, will you please specify gender of Rene Rooswinkel since Rene is used for males as well as females.
You see, in Greek language there are three genders, masculine, feminine and neutral gender. So the word "partner" (noun) should have a definite article before it and this should correspond to the gender of the noun, to be grammatically correct.

Thank you very much!

What an interesting technique Hans! I hadn't heard/read about this, very ingenious! Though seems a little difficult/step learning curve to hollow out the hardwood to leave the perfect amount of bark/cambium to fold over. But your results were impressive! Thanks!

The Link in the tittle post of this thread (LINK TO MY WOUND TREATMENT ARTICLE) captures your computer and the only escape is to immediately power off.  Hopefully, you have anti-virus software which will take over when you power back on.

Thanks for the information. The thread is now ten years old and the OP no longer posts, but I have edited the post to alert people to the missing link.
