Re: Bougainvile
I would cut the branches way back, about 2 inches from the main trunk base, I would remove at least one of the two in the middle, what does the other side look like?

Hi Billy,
Could you have any virtual for this bougainvile? It's hard for me to decide unless virtual pict. It's very heavy to lift alone. I must wait a friend to do this job.
Any idea are welcome.
Thanks

Re: Bougainvile
I am not a virtual person and I would need to see the other sides before any more suggestions are made. The two center branches/trunks cross so one should be removed.
My Bougies thrive on being cut back.

Re: Bougainvile
I went the same way as you did, I removed one of the four main branches, the one in the picture that begins 3rd from the left and crosses over the 2nd as it extends up and left. then I pruned bac the remaining 3 to look like below. I may have pruned them back too far, but you got primarily the same effort out of yours.

Hi Manwardi Nur,
Could you post a few more photos of the tree. Opposite of the front you have now and then right and left. I would like to see if you have some other options. It looks like you are from a tropical area so you should have no problems getting this to grow even if you cut back to a single trunk line. You want to give it the appearance of taper. You can use the hack back method and make a longer cut to the back so in time it will heal or make it an older rotted out looking area with some carving.
