Shimpaku Leaves
Can anyone give me or post some clear view of shimpaku leaves. I'd like to buy one but i'm a little scared of buying the wrong material. I don't know the difference between cypresses and junipers. Thank you for posting

The foliage of cypress is much coarser. But how do you know Shimpaku will grow in the Philippines?

Re: Shimpaku Leaves
Hi Yobobs.
The simple anwer to the question from most of us would be to be very wary of buying anything that doesn't have a label on it, or which isn't being sold by someone you know as a reputable and knowledgeable seller. (Those are not absolute guarantees of course.) However, I am inferring from your other posts that you are not a beginner in bonsai and that you have some knowledge at least of your native trees. This makes yours an interesting question in a way, and I'm wondering if it is the case that you have seen one you are interested in but think it is wrongly labelled. Might be a milliion miles off with that of course. I usually fall back on good old books when I need to identify.
