"DUTCH" WINTERWONDERLAND.
Hi everybody,
wile almost all means of transport from A to B was made imposible by the unusual amount of snow that was dropped over night on Holland. I took advantage of that situation to go for a nice walk in a dune forest close to were I live. Getting there by car was pretty difficult! Large part of the highway up there were frozen. But it was worth it, I was one of the first to walk in the virgin snow in this magical wetland dune forest! This forest so full of Hawthorns and Pine is always a great place for a walk or picnic. Pony's and Highland cattle walk free there and a lot of migrating birds can be seen. But to walk there all alone in that freshly fallen snow was realy a special experience and I was lucky to capture this winter wonderland on some pictures that I would like to share with you all!
Above: A group of trees on a island in a small village close to the forest and beach.
Hope you enjoyed them?
Cheers,
Hans van Meer.

(Goeie dag) Ed, Hans and other people from Holland
I was fortunate to visit your country for three weeks during December 2010. We visited and stayed with family who lives in Nieuwegein. From there we visited places like Utrecht, Rotterdam, Amsterdam, Hilversum and smaller towns like Enkhuizen, Muiden, Tiel, Buren etc. Also visited the Delta Werke.
As you know it was (is) one of the coldest winters with the most snow that Holland had in years. For me it was a wonderful experience, as it is something I have not experienced before, coming from sunny South Africa. It was my first time overseas. Off course I went trigger happy (with my camera). Herewith a couple of my pictures to add to your post. Where do u live?
Dit was regtig aangenaam in julle land. Baie dankie.
Mooi wense.
