With permissoin of Olda Kašpar, I´d like to introduce to You this tree, which has become the Tree of the year 2010 in Czech Republic. It´s Pinus mugo from high mountains. To get the idea, the cascade is 85cm tall. You can see two years progress till putting it to sleep for winter 2010/2011, on the images.
The author and owner of the tree is Olda Kašpar

Great tree, Thanks for reminding me.

Milan,

Nice tree. Like Rob stated and judging by the first picture, I would have chosen an alternative front. So much beauty is hidden by the needles....

Anyhow, great tree!!!

Kind regards,

Hi Milan, very good. That is a fijne specimen.

PS Vaclaw and Lukas did great jobs respectively in Mexico. Lukas even speaks Spanish. Alas no photos from me as my camera enountered a "problem" during my demo.

Hi all

Olda tree is very beautiful. ThumbsUp
But I think more exposed side is the opposite. From the other side has a natural depth of the tree, trunk and branches of the movement. Before the show we the owner (Olda Kašpar)) talked about it. I think that was prepared by the original owner, Mr. Marcinko. Distribution of the tree is beautiful to see the first photo and the photo Eric, side view.

This tree deserved the price without any doubts, congratulations Exclamation It is not a simple-designed bonsai and almost each bonsai folk prefered another front while discussing the overall design, but I think that this complexity and "free form" are the best caracteristics of this very nice piece of tree. Thanks, Rob, it was a pleasure to meet you and see your work again! I´m sorry about your camera "problems" and all your photos lost - I didn´t see any other pictures from the event, so here comes my report https://ibonsaiclub.forumotion.com/bonsai-f1/felab-2010-international-bonsai-congress-merida-mexico-t5025.htm . Smile. I would be very grateful if you could add your opinions & observations as well.

Lots of curves and details were prepared by the original owner, Mr. Juraj Marcinko.
But without any thinking about a front. Just well preparing great pre-material, not bonsai.
Waiting for its time to come. (Similar as Othmar Auer school.)
The tree was even planted in different possition, almost lying.
When Juraj saw this tree, he said: "If I knew, what You create out of this material, I would never sell it."
Noone wanted that material for many years, until Olda came and found the tree of the year in it :-)
