Scottish Bonsai Association National Exhibition Empty Scottish Bonsai Association National Exhibition

The Scottish Bonsai Association is holding its annual National Exhbition on Sunday May 18th.

Taking place this year in the picturesque seaside town of Troon, the event hopes to attract bonsai enthusiasts from across Scotland and the north of England as well as visitors from the more local public.

This is the association's flagship show and features club displays from each of the eight main area groups, with the groups competing for the SBA trophy for the best display. Additionally, there is a section for shohin and mame trees which will be displayed in a more traditional Japanese exhibition format.

This year, the displays will be being judged by Rob Atkinson and Ian Warhurst.  Traders at the event include Wattston Bonsai, the legendary Ian Baillie and the up and coming Peter Kleboe from Catrine Pottery.

Over the past few years the standard of display has gone up significantly and this year should push the bar even higher. It promises to be an excellent event and the seaside setting will certainly enhance it.

Now can someone organise some decent weather please?
