Celebrating Kent Bonsai 2012
Kent Bonsai, North West Kent & Maidstone Bonsai Clubs are proud to announce a Tri-Club Show to take place in 2012. To my knowledge this is the 1st time this has been attempted and we are hopeful that this event will attract bonsai enthusiasts from the South East of England and beyond.
Celebrating Kent Bonsai - Showcasing Bonsai in the Garden of England
will take place on Sunday 27th May 2012, at Lenham Community Centre, Lenham, Kent.
The show will bring together what we hope will be the best display of Bonsai in Kent for many years, if ever, along with Club displays and respected Bonsai Traders. From pots to accents, nursery material to bonsai sundries this event will cover hopefully all aspects of the art of Bonsai.
Although still in its early stages I would like to invite everyone to put a note in their diary for what I hope will be the Bonsai event in the South East.
Further details will be posted from time to time but if you require anymore info or could offer me some advice either email me at simon@haddons.eu or PM me.
Thanks for your time and I hope to see some of you at my “home” of Bonsai,
Regards,
Simon

Celebrating Kent Bonsai 2012
Hello Simon. Sounds like an excellent idea to me. The Norfolk, Ipswich and Bury St Edmunds clubs used to show together for a few years. They were good shows with bags of enthusiasm.

Celebrating Kent Bonsai Show – News
This is a very exciting event as it will be the 1st time ever that all three of the Clubs in Kent (Kent, North West Kent & Maidstone) will have exhibited together in one place. Nestled in the picturesque Kent countryside, Lenham is a medieval village and will play host to the Show. With easy access from the motorway system, it is under an hour from the M25 and Kent coast, and under 15 minutes from the M20 at junction 8, so a convenient and easy to find location. With local attractions, including Leeds Castle, only a stone’s throw away a visit to CKB is a perfect way to spend a wonderful day in the Garden of England. The event itself promises to be a true bonsai-fest with quality trees and traders from the South East along with an informative demo from John Armitage of the BSA.
The Exhibition will consist of over 80 of the best trees in the counties 3 Clubs divided into main exhibit and a “Best Club Display” section all of which I’m sure will be hotly contested. In addition to this the British Shohin Association will be in attendance with a stunning display of Shohin trees. Andy Pearson of Stone Monkey Ceramics has kindly produced and donated the wonderful trophies for the main categories that will be awarded to the lucky winners. The BSA has also kindly agreed to present a special Shohin award. John has also generously agreed to do a demo for us which will be split into two parts with a demo in the morning followed by a tree clinic in the afternoon.
I know that this date clashes with the Magical Bonsai Accents Show in Bristol but I do hope that some more easterly IBC'ers can make it,
Kindest Regards,
Simon

Thanks to all who made this event possible it was fantastic and a great achievement made by all. From the man and the top to those behind the scenes thank you for all you did to make this first of a kind event possible and a success. I am very proud to be associated with you all and lucky to call you friends. I loved every minute and so did my daughter selling my pots, even if I did have to pay her for a days work
